Explore Mexico’s premier wine region that produces over 80% of all the wine that comes from Mexico. Although this area has been producing wine for over 100 years, it has only experienced incredible growth in the last decade, as it has turned into the up-and-coming wine region on the west coast. Join us as we use all five senses to dive deep into this region of Mexico, exploring the old Ruta del Vino and its wines, tasting delicious olive oils, cooking traditional Mexican cuisine, and hearing the pounding ocean against the cliffs at a fabulous restaurant that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

Schedule

Itinerary subject to change

Day 1: Cross border + Beer tasting at Wendlandt in Ensenada + Welcome dinner at Finca Altozano

After being picked up at your hotel in San Diego in the morning, crossing the border, and making our way 1-hour south, we’ll stretch our legs and walk around downtown Ensenada before having snack and beer at Wendlandt brewery.

Spend the late afternoon relaxing at the hotel pool before a fabulous dinner at Finca Altozano. Think locally grown ingredients from the orchards, ranches, and sea.

Day 2: Wine tasting along the Ruta del Vino + Wine & mezcal speakeasy dinner

We’ll start our day with a wine and olive oil tasting at Château Camou, then head to El Cielo for a mid-day picnic, and finish at Concierto Enológico for a sensorial wine tasting experience. At Concierto, we will be making and formulating our own wine blend. Please be aware that at any point if you would like to return to the hotel, our driver would be happy to bring you back for a rest or afternoon by the pool!

Our speakeasy dinner will be held at Natal Comunidad, Valle de Guadalupe's hidden gem, where we will experience what Valle de Guadalupe was 50 years ago. Natal is simple, quiet and surrounded by beautiful flower fields, ponds, oak trees, vineyards, and a secret forest - The perfect place to savor while you sip great vino, mezcal, and enjoy exquisite sea-to-table Paella made with the freshest seafood variety from the port of Ensenada.

Day 3: Wine cellar tour of Don Pedro Domecq + Brunch at Bar Bura + Depart for border

Sunday brunch will be enjoyed at Bar Bura, a beautiful restaurant overlooking the cliffs of Ensenada at Cuatro Cuatros. This restaurant offers 360 degree views of the Pacific Ocean and Valle De Guadalupe.

The border crossing will be later in the afternoon on Sunday and, although times wait times differ and fluctuate, you can expect an average 2 hour wait. You will be dropped off at your respective hotels in San Diego.
