Travel With Confidence
Your safety, as well as the safety of our employees and partners, has always been our top priority, which is why new protection measures have been put in place on all of our tours. Our Travel with Confidence policy features new health and safety protocols from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, without taking away from having the time of your life! The policy will continue to evolve as we continue to monitor public health recommendations, but what won’t change is our commitment to keeping you safe as you experience Mexico.
Smaller is better.
Our groups have always been small to encourage connections, access places overlooked by larger groups, and to give you plenty of personal space — even before physical distancing. We will continue to foster connections with newly created measures to keep you and everyone you meet safe.
Our guides.
Our guides are responsible for you having the time of your life, which includes keeping you safe and happy. With their local knowledge and new health and safety training, they will continue to do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your adventure in whatever way makes you most comfortable.
Private rides.
When on the road, our private vehicles will now undergo daily deep cleaning of all surfaces. Hand-sanitizer [and possibly masks] will be required every time you board the vehicle depending on current protocols and regulations.
Sleep soundly.
We have always selected our accommodations carefully and now we are working with them to create new procedures to further protect your health and safety. Because we travel in small groups, we stay at smaller hotels and sometimes even rent out the entire hotel for our group — this means fewer guests. This gives you the opportunity to spend quality time with your fellow travelers.
Safe eats.
Food is half the reason we travel… okay, more than half… so we know how crucial it is that you feel safe whenever we stop for a meal. We will continue to only include eating experiences on tour where good hygiene is maintained, hand-sanitizer is provided, and masks are worn by all staff members.
Activities.
You’ve always had freedom and flexibility to do your own thing on our experiences with optional activities included. Now, you’ll still have those options with added measures to keep you healthy and safe. All equipment for activities on tour, including yoga equipment, surfboards, snorkels, etc., will be cleaned thoroughly at least once a day and disinfected between use. We will also do our best to make activities and highlights stops happen during non-peak hours, so you can have fun and feel safe no matter what you’re doing.
What happens if I test positive for Covid-19 on an experience?
*As of July 12, 2022, the U.S. does not require U.S. citizens to provide proof of a negative Covid test prior to returning to the country. If you are traveling to another country or if rules and regulations are to change for Mexico again and you should test positive, here are some steps to take:
Don’t panic! Cases like this happen every day and hotels are ready and constantly updating their procedures for this very circumstance.
Coordinate isolation accommodation with the hotel. Most hotels will give you the option to isolate in your room between 5-10 days, or until you test negative, completely free or at a reduced rate. Some will even give you the option to transfer to a different hotel that specializes in isolation. The hotel staff will bring you meals and water and make sure you have everything you need while you isolate.
Call your airline and postpone your flight home. Most airlines are offering no-fee cancelations within 24-2 hours before flights to accommodate the ever-changing needs of passengers.
Contact your travel insurance provider. In the case that the hotel or airline is not covering your changes, your travel insurance likely will, providing you got a Covid policy.
Get a negative test to fly home. Re-testing at the hotel until you receive a negative test is the best way to return home.
If you need medical care, don’t worry, Mexico has very advanced medical care. Should you require medical attention during your isolation period, the country has wonderful doctors and clinics that are prepared and qualified to treat Covid-19. Your hotel or travel insurance provider will be able to direct you to the best health care professional in your area.
